Who We Are

Karistaan, a Netherlands-based small business, is led by Karishma Parekh – a passionate artist, entrepreneur, and sustainability enthusiast with Indian roots.

What We Do

We aim at building a greener world through our eco-friendly crafts that combine upcycled raw materials with vibrant colors and ergonomic designs and give a new life to materials that would have otherwise ended up polluting our environment.

Our Products

Did you know? Over 8 billion trees are cut down every year to make paper. But that’s not even the worst part – most of this paper is just thrown away as waste!

At Karistaan, we create handmade paper products by reusing some of this discarded paper instead of using new wood. Our special attention to design, detail, comfort, and elegance wins our customers’ hearts – every time!

Currently, we offer the following handmade products made from used paper:

• Eco-friendly Paper Pencils: Handcrafted from recycled paper, our 2B pencils are zero-waste and plantable, perfect for sustainable writing across boardrooms and classrooms.
• Upcycled Paper Pens: Elegant and eco-friendly, our paper pens are durable, biodegradable, and come with plantable seeds – perfect for schools, colleges, & sustainable gifting.

All our products can be customized with names, logos, and other information of your choice.

In 2018, Karishma's life took a new turn as she moved to the Netherlands to be with her husband. Over the last few years, her quest to integrate sustainable stationery into the rich Dutch culture while preserving her unique style and craftsmanship has opened new doors for her to continue her mission on a global scale.
